چکیده
As the most relevant indicator of global warming, ocean heat content (OHC) change is tightly linked to Earth’s energy imbalance. Therefore, it vital study OHC and absorption redistribution. Here we analyzed characteristics variations based on a previously reconstructed dataset (named OPEN) with four other gridded datasets from 1993 2021. Different datasets, OPEN directly obtains through remote sensing, which reliable superior in reconstruction, further verified by Clouds Radiant Energy System (CERES) radiation flux data. We quantitatively changes upper 2000 m oceans over past three decades multisource multilayer perspective. Meanwhile, calculated uptake quantify track warming rate combined Oceanic Niño Index analyze evolution associated El Niño–Southern Oscillation variability. Review on Ocean Heat Content and Ocean Warming
Since the mid-20th century, there is substantial increase in the average measured temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans, which is now known as "global warming". Global mean surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C during the 100 years ending in 2005. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes that most of the increase since the mid-twentieth century is "...

An overview is given of current operational methods for retrieving two-dimensional ocean wave spectra from near real-time ERS-1 SAR wave mode (SWM) imagette spectra. The SWM data quality and performance of the WASAR algorithm are assessed. Sensitivity analyses and validation studies are performed using two-dimensional NOAA buoy data as well as TOPEX and ERS-1 altimeter-derived signiicant wave h...
متن کاملCan global warming affect tropical ocean heat transport?
Tropical meridional ocean heat transport is studied in six coupled ocean-atmosphere models in which atmospheric CO 2 concentration has been increased. In the Indo-Pacific, the strength of Subtropical Cells (STCs) changes in response to changes in the trade winds. However, the change is not consistent among models. In contrast, in all models the tropical Indo-Pacific heat transport remains nearl...
متن کاملOcean Remote Sensing with GPS
Mesoscale ocean eddies, analogous to atmospheric storms, are thought to play a very significant role in the transport of momentum, heat, salt, nutrients, and other chemical properties of the ocean. At present, quantifying the role of mesoscale eddies in the ocean circulation and therefore climate variability cannot be done simply because their spatio-temporal structures are not resolved by the ...
متن کاملGlobal ocean heat content 1955–2008 in light of recently revealed instrumentation problems
[1] We provide estimates of the warming of the world ocean for 1955–2008 based on historical data not previously available, additional modern data, correcting for instrumental biases of bathythermograph data, and correcting or excluding some Argo float data. The strong interdecadal variability of global ocean heat content reported previously by us is reduced in magnitude but the linear trend in...
